One big step that we had to take was having our biometrics done. Biometrics is fancy for (and rather pricey) fingerprints. We sent in the application to the USCIS (see picture below) requesting permission to adopt- and on Saturday we got our appointment to have our biometrics done!! What's neat is that you don't have to wait for your appointment- you can go right away and shave a few weeks off the process!!
Monday morning, Al and I left the house at 5.45am and drove to Norfolk. We were 2nd in line at 7.40am. By 8.15, we were back in the car headed back home! It was perfect timing because Al's parents were here- so they took Adeline and Alden to swim team, and then our good friend, Karen, she came and stayed with the kiddos so Al's parents could leave for NY.
This is the last major paper that we need- our approval from USCIS- to send in the dossier for Asher and Annalise! Hopefully we will get our next sets of initials and numbers- I 797!
